Ok, to cut it short, I have run with Fram oil filters since I owned my van, about 25000, miles without a hitch. With 5w30 (never again. no pressure at idle) 20w50 and 15w50 synthetic. I never had a problem. From what I have read about Fram, they are built to vehicle manufacturer specifications so explain to me why they won't work. They even have that little follow-through valve thingy to let oil through if the filter is clogged. Pete peterz@gte.net 83.5 vanagon >Then I read this list. The whole thing from last year to date. I found the magic word >there. Fram!! > >Yes the %&*!!** Fram oil filters. I went to the dealer, paid him his $10 or whatever, and >my van runs like new. No more valve lifter noise. What can I say except, thanks gang. >And to anyone running after market oil filters to save a few bucks, why risk it. I learned >that all oil filters are not created equal, and Fram is less equal of all. > >Frank A2 >84 GL >91 Festiva. |
