I can't prove it, but I'll bet that since the oiling system is full-flow through the filter (as opposed to bypass) that the Frams have *more* filtering ability than other filters, causing a 'rstriction' which would cause a pressure/flow drop to below acceptable levels if the downstream engine parts are too loose (and the pressure switches, along with the rest of the engine, come after the filter, so of course they'd see the pressure drop). If the above is true, perhaps a valid check of your engine's condition is to run a Fram filter w/ 15-50 and if your oil lights/buzzer fire up the engine's tired!!(?) Austin |
