Years ago I went to Ensenata Mexico and parked the VW bus I was driving
on the street while we shopped. When we returned there was a one page
flyer on the windshield. I wasn't very good at spanish and threw the
flyer in the bus so I could look at it later and try to figure out what
it said. We drove almost 50 miles and met up with some friends at a
motel and we sat down and talked over some beers. I mentioned that I was
hearing some wierd creaking noise from one of the wheels and said that I
was going to look at them before we left in the morning. We continued
talking over more beers and I remembered the flyer. I went and got it
and we started figuring out what it said. It turned out to be from a
brake shop and they were advertising a brake job special. Then the 'ol
light bulb turned on and I went out and pulled a hubcap. Three of the
lug nuts had been removed on one of the front wheels. The two remaining
were next to each other so when the wheel rolled it caused leverage to
move the wheel and make the lugnuts creak. I was supposed to think that
the brakes needed to be looked at and take it to the brake shop. I was
lucky I figured it out before the wheel came off. BTW we are off to San
Filepe next week!!
