Subject: Life after 1.9 rebuild
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Volks!

Have been in the rebuild stage on my 84 Westy for some time now. After a few warm February days, I'm thinking of the day in April when insurance is back on her and she's ready to go. Need the lists' help here.

I plan to make two longish trips this year after trying her out on some short east coast US trips. First major voyage will be to the Canadian Maritime Provinces and continuing on to Newfoundland. That will probably begin in late May and run through June. Is this a good time to be there or is it too early? Bugs?

Then in late August, I will leave for Alaska north via a yet to be determined land route and south by the car ferries that traverse the west coast of BC. How far ahead should I make a reservation?

What I need from the listees are some suggestions on: roads to take, places not to be missed; special camping areas along the way; places to avoid; anything else that might be pertinent to Vanagon travel.

Thanks in advance for any help.
