<< So when VW decided to use this name and discovered that is was already owned by GM, did they just call up GM and ask to buy the name? Or did VW have to trade some other name for it. So will we see a new GM van called the "Transporter"?, or will we see the Chevy Dasher in the near future. Personally, I'd hate to see them give up "Thing" >>

Uh, Steve, I hate to tell you this but there already is a GM van called the Pontiac Trans Sporter. It was also called the Chevy Lumina van and I think they have changed it to the Montana now or something (I really don't keep with GM stuff but I was a valet for a year a few years ago and knew all the models back then). So maybe VW traded "Transporter" to GM for "Eurovan". The time frame is almost perfect as I believe that the Trans Sporter and the EV were both introduced in the early 90's. Sherlock solves it again!
