The relationship between experience and success is alpha .822 at a .05 level of confidence (using a causal-recursive model pioneered by W. Berry, citation on demand). This suggests that unless you have considerable mechanical experience, or consider your time worth less than 10% of the going rate for experts in your area, you should have someone else do it. Further, if you become really good at stats, you'll be able to get a job that will enable you, with two days work, to pay a professional to do the engine job that would take you a week to accomplish. And he'll do a better job. Any further questions?
