Subject: Temperature gauge reading warmer.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Ever since I had to flush and fill and bleed the cooling system on my 84' the gauge has read a little higher then before. It used to have green=bad antifreeze and now has blue autobahn stuff. It used to read right in the middle of the led but now reads right at the top of the led. This has been fine but today I noticed the gauge reading a little warmer once I came to a stop light off of the highway. It hasn't done this until today. I drive for about ten minutes at about 70 on my way to work. Once I got to work I checked the overflow tank and noticed that the level didn't seem any higher than it was cold. I am thinking maybe the pressure cap on the expansion tank is not working correctly. Is that a good guess? If so, anybody know the part number so I can order from a foreign auto parts store instead of the VW? Also, is there a way to check if the fan switch on the radiator is working correctly? Thanks in advance. Tim Vogelin 84' Wolfsburg Appleton, WI
