Hi Ron , The German Smog law is a little difficult. Even when you try to buy a US Cat for you German Vanagon you have to get the up grade aprooft by the German TUV. If you didn't have the right paperwork you spend approx. $3000 for an aproof certificate. Even when you have a TWC in your Vanagon ,depending on the age, you have to pay Road tax 13.80 DM for each 100 ccm of engine displacement. Welcome to the Paradise.

But the German Bier is still good!

Sincerely Detlev Vanagon Projekt 925 606 8797
