Use absolutely nothing.

The material is designed to seal out the elephants, oops I mean *elements* without treatment. The fibers are absorbent, and swell significantly when exposed to water, thus making the fabric occlusive. Sure, the fabric gets moist to the touch, just don't touch it. You can spray it with a garden hose once it's wet, and nothing will come inside.

While I wouldn't experiment to find out, some have said that putting any repellant (scotchgard, campdry, etc.) on the top will actually RUIN its absorbent characteristics, and thus *creating* leaks.
