If you have camped in a canvas tent you know that canvas should not ever
"leak" but it will "sweat" to stay dry, don't lean anything up against it
or sleep against it upstairs as the water will wick through to you.  One of
the best things I have seen in a long time was a "fly" made for the front
pop top window allowing the window to remain open even during rain, also
keeping the direct sunlight out but allowing a breeze through.  This can be
made from rip-stop nylon, very light-very strong and fastened to the front
edge of the pop top at the brackets in each inner corner with a bungie cord
or something similar and then to the front two tie-down on the luggage rack
and back to the side tie-downs.  Easily put on and removed by standing on
the door jamb or from inside the poptop through the window.  I have a
picture of one I took at a meet in NH a few years ago and will send it if
requested (if I can find it again).
