Help?

I am going to Utah for a week and wanted to use my new Westy (new '84). I think the vehicle is ready. The propane is not. My tank apparently had a hole in it the size of a pencil led. The gas company I went to said that they were able to scrounge the parts to replace my corroded fill valve. So now the challenge is to get a new tank tomorrow, fill and install it as well. I leave sat. morn. The local bone yard has some VW campers. The guy didn't know if they had tanks. He said they should...

the question...

Are the tanks the same on most years. Thread size, etc. I have the new parts that function. I need the tank. I don't want to get one and find out it doesn't work due to wrong thread count, mounts differently, etc. Thoughts?

Joe '84 Westy Will be camping at the Point of the Mountain, UT flying Paragliders...
