Thanks for the responses!

I asked > Quick question: whats the empty weight of an 83.5 Westfailia, 1.9L > (kitchen, closet, popup. no a/c, one battery. white :)

Anthony L. Mourkas <frankenstein@telplus.net> 84 Westy full camper (with A/C) GVWR: 5160 lbs GAWR: 2425 lbs front 2866 lbs rear 87 Syncro with A/C GVWR: 5512 lbs GAWR: 2866 lbs front 3042 lbs rear

Joel Walker <jwalker@uronramp.net> my 88 GL non-camper weighs in at 3640 lbs (with some junk inside) and full fuel (that's almost 100 lbs by itself: a full tank is 16 gallons at 6 lbs/gallon). my 87 GL camper hit the scales at 3960 lbs, with full fuel and no junk. so i'd figure your 83.5 watercooled to be about the same. then the white paint adds another 100 lbs. :)

Bill Johnson <rennkafer@connectcorp.net> my 85 gl Westi should be pretty close, the only difference that I know of from your post is that I have a second battery... had mine on 2 state certified scales here and got 3960lbs on both scales... that is unloaded, no water in tank, and near full tank of gas. Hope that helps...

Thanks folks! If I have any problems being overweight at the truck scales, I'll move the engine lid to the tow vehicle :)
