G.M., I agree with much of what you have to say about marketing, but it's certainly not done only by SUV sellers. Watch a night of TV and you will see the same techniques used for many other products. But you're right-people are sheep when it comes to buying things they think they need. I live in a ski town, and you should see the number of sport-utes here. One might think that they would be more usable here, but in a town like this, the streets are cleared better than in most places. I'm amazed at how many folks here (the wealthier ones) drive Land Rovers and Hummers!! As for the argument about SUVs killing people in the other vehicle in an accident, many will say that they would rather be riding in the SUV than the other car! Say, while you're cranked up, you want to take a crack at the cigarette pushers?? (Oops! forgot you live in North Carolina!!) Have a good weekend, Larry '82 diesel-->Jetta Westy...a "real" sport/utility vehicle
