(This is for Todd @ VolksWorks)

Todd, You sound like a really knowledgable guy regarding transmissions so, I have a question for ya. I just had a rebuilt trans put in my 85 GL. I bought it from FGA who subs the work out to Trans Works. From reading your post regarding the grindy tranny (moving from 1st to second) that's worse when cold, should a rebuilt trans with "new synchros" do this? I just had the fluid changed after about 2-3k and it sorta got worse when cold. After a short warm up period the "grindy" goes away and doesn't return that day. My old trans did this as well, but really didn't expect it to be present on the rebuilt one.

BTW-Didn't know about you before I put in my trans or I'da bought it from you it sounds like!
