I recall hearing that there is at least one outfit renting Westies near San Francisco. My wife and I are hoping to travel the Northwest this fall and unfortunately do not have enough time to make the cross-country drive and still have sufficient time to poke around the NW for a few weeks to get the feel for the area before heading back. For this reason we are wondering if renting a Westy is possible and reasonable price-wise. Does anyone have any experience doing this out of SF? I'm hoping to get a '79 or earlier so I can decide how much money (if any) I should put into restoring my '72. Can't really remember how practical that old air-cooled is on a day to day basis, so a few weeks in one should jog the memory either way. Anyway, if anybody has any info. on companies/people doing the renting, past good or bad experiences etc. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks, Mark |
