Hi all: I suspect that neither of the 2.0L Vanagon engines I'm rebuilding has "genuine VW" nuts for the 6 big (10mm) through bolts that hold the case halves togther. Looking at the heads of these bolts I read the number "10.9" which is, I guess, a higher grade than the typical "automotive" application. Can I use regular 10mm x 1.25 nuts here, or is there a higher-grade nut I should be using in this application? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young young@sherlock.SIMS.Berkeley.EDU Lafayette, CA 94549 '81 Vanagon --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
