Subject: 1986 Vanagon - parting out
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

List members,

I have a 1986 Bronze/tan Vanagon GL that I am going to start parting out. The body is in good shape (a few rust blisters in the front gravel pan and over the left rear wheel well - and a moderate dent in the sliding door). I am going to keep the radiator, the seats and the A/C. Everything else is for sale. It has an automatic tranny. The engine (2.1L) was running fine until the heads gave out. Engine is still mounted to the chassis. Rear bumper is dented but fixable; front bumper is perfect.

Here is a sample of the most obvious components:

Auto Tranny: $375 (less linkage) Linkage and shifter: $35 Auto Door locking and auto window system: ($150) Rear bumper: $10 Front bumper: $50 Bumper end caps: $5 each Wheel covers (3): $10 each Radiator Grilles: $ 35 and $20 Other: just ask

If you live in the Washington, DC area and want to take the parts off yourself, I will adjust the prices. Work number is (703) 697-9015. No home calls, please.

The Van is more or less complete but has been sitting for a year or so. If someone wants the whole Van before the parts start disappearing, make me an offer. Picture available upon request.

Russ Gunter
