Hi Justin.

The diff. lock is for driving under severe conditions, as off-road or winter driving. The diff lock makes for a 50/50 split of power, and locking both wheels on one axle together, so both wheels are spinning in exact same speed. This is very useful when doing some off-road driving, and you are stuck with one rear wheel off the ground. If you mostly do street driving, you will not miss it much, as the Syncro system is enough for regular winter driving.
