I not only check out Vanagons I pass on the road, I have been know to pull off
the road into parking lots to get a closer look at parked Vanagons.  Quite a
few pleasant conversations with other equally curious Vanagon owners have
resulted.  The conversation  usually starts with "Do you know about the
Vanagon List?".  I have also returned to my parked van after shopping or
hiking to find another Vanagon owner or wanna-be checking out my Syncro.
Perfect strangers suddenly become like old friends in ten minutes.


I'm in Western Washington State and there is tons of Volkswagen vans here.
Funny thing though....most of the "wavers" are driving Splitties or Bay
Windows.
