if it ain't broke - dont fix it... a few years back, i tried some "preventive rust maintenance" on my car hauler ('80 Dodge B200 van 318V8) which included spraying sound deadenind undercoating inside the rear 1/4 panels, and it actually MADE it rust....(water that got trapped behind the undercoating, just stayed there, mixed with road salt, and rotted the metal out from behind...) ps...i never add "sound deadening" and insulation to any vehicle anywhere near the rockers or floor... ive seen buses rot out so fast because all this insulation soaks up water, and never dries out..
