My 87 GL Weekender  (automatic) does not like to crank if warmed up and the
engine stopped, to get gas etc.

Some times it just puts out about half a crank and that's it.

I got stranded at a gas station this weekend, close to home.

The lights were bright, meaning the battery wasn't dead.

I got under neath with a screwdriver and jumped the starter over a few times
but no start.

After walking home and returning, later with jumper cables,  it tried it
first (cold now) and it started up with a slight Hesatation.

Cranks best when cold, Has a remanufactured. Bosh starter, I guess there all
Bosh.

Any Ideas?

Get the diehard checked at sears for it's cranking amps? Switch batteries
with my 90 cabrolet and see if it happens with that battery?
