With regard to recent posts about stumbling, about a year ago my air-cooled
vanagon (1980) would stumble and miss while going up even minor grades.  New
fuel filter and spark plug wires made all the difference in the world.


Extra:  Last summer I bought several boxloads of National Geographic going
back to 1980 (this was definitely an impulse buy).
While reading through them I saw an ad from Dodge comparing their van to a
Vanagon (Dec 1981 issue).  I have posted this ad at
www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7409/dodgevan.jpg  for anybody interested.  If
any body collects these sort of things I'm sure I have several issues with
this ad in it, want to trade for something equally inane?
