John - According to Bentley, the 1.9L & the 2.1L specs for compression are 145-189psi, with 116psi being the minimum. Conventional wisdom says that all cylinders should be within 10% of one another, BUT, Vanagon owners have learned to ADAPT, cause we are WEIRD dudes!
