I inherited a K&N filter with my 91 Syncro Westy with a carb. The filter sits on top of the carb and is a 360 degree doughnut style. My only power/performance comparison is with a 81 Westy, then a 86 French Syncro Westy Diesel but my 91 seems to have fairly good power. I find that cleaning and re-preping the filter is not much of a pain.
