If the injector lights are going off you may have a Hall sender problem. No RPM signal, no injection. Try jiggling the Hall sender connection while idling and see if you can get the engine to buck. If so, it may be grounding. Use electrical tape or epoxy to stop it from grounding. Also, Jim Thompson from the Old Volks home advertised that he had just the Hall sender part of the distributor (only place I've seen it available w/o the whole dist).
