Check the acrchies from this week or maybe last week. Some creative soul did them himself for 100 bones. Maybe that was one side. Still 200 for a gasket overhaul isn't that bad. I may have taken that approach in Mar. 98' if my motor didn't look so ratty upon tear-down. The rust was heavy enough to clog passageways. The PO didn't think any coolant was necessary. Lucky me.
