I just read from my Haynes..... But I couldn't leave it at that, so I looked into my air-cooled Haynes manuals, to compare some facts, about the crank first. All rod journals are identical (55mm), all bearing journals are identical, except the #1 bearing journal on the wbx. The #1 journal is 55mm on the airs, while it is 60mm on waters. the #2, 3, 4 journals are identical (55, 55, 40mm) These manuals does not give any info on the width on the journals, but I would guess they are identical.

I know there has been some kits for the wbx, increasing the displacement from 2,1 to 2,5 but with a cost of $10.000 back in 92, I would guess this incorporates a stroker crank, in addition to cyls, and a lot of other stuff. This was offered by the Norwegian Projektzwo dealer, but I only have a leaflet with a short text, some pics of different body kits, and a price list. I do not know if the dealer is still alive. This kit was supposed to increase the power output from the stock 112hp to 140hp.

I have never opened a wbx engine, so I do not know if it will be possible to fit bigger cyls without machining the head and case. If these cyls are slip-in, I guess, from looking at pics in the Haynes, that the walls may be thin.

Now, if someone else has more to add... please feel free to do so.
