More in the SnakeOil tradition, I'd say...I especially enjoyed the cautions about shellac in the gas tanks of high-mile vehicles, including this description of fuel system functioning:

"...When running a fuel tank close to empty, more of the solids will be sucked into the fuel lines occasionally, causing the potential for slight obstruction of the fuel filter. The consequence is that the engine has to work harder to suck the fuel through and not enough fuel is injected into the cylinder. This could result in the engine misfiring resulting in a drop-off in mileage. DO NOT run your tank to empty...The protective layer of Bi-Tron will reduce the accumulation of shellac - leading to many miles of cleaner, more economical driving..."

I didn't know my engine SUCKed fuel...
