Subject: squeak gone? I think so. Burritos too
Content-Type: text/plain

Thanks to everybody that suggested I tighten and inspect my belts. Last night I inspected the belts and they look good (replaced 11/98), but the alternator belt was a bit loose. I tighten it. Also tightened the powersteering belt. I did not spray any Triflow on/in the alternator for fear of messing up something.

The squeak was not heard this morning on the way to work or this afternoon on the way to and from lunch. Thanks again.

This brings me to a NON VANAGON topic: Lunch. I have been going to a great burrito place for the past 10 years. It is in Mountain View California. It is called La Costena. They have a sister restaurant called Burrito Real. They are on Rengstorff and Old Middlefield & New Middlefield, respectively. When you go there, you walk down the line pointing (or speaking Spanish) at what beans, meats, rice, toppings, salsa, etc you want on it. The burrito is about half the volume of a catalytic converter (ahhh, Vanagon content!) and only costs about 4 bucks with a soda. These places were said to be THE BEST BURRITOS IN THE NATION according to Sunset Magazine (which is located in Palo Alto CA I think...). They also hold the record for the world's longest and heavies burrito, about 1.75 miles! Email me if you need direction or advice. If you are heading to Shoreline Amp for a concert, this place is about 2 miles away. A great snack if you have the desire to eat a lot of grub. BTW, I seldom see Vanagons in the parking lot :-( of the place. Maybe you know something I don't?

Ok, happy Friday tomorrow and happy eating -Matthew 84 wolfsy in Yosemite Friday. It will be parked in the Awahnee parking lot for the weekend while I am on Washington's Column. Look for me, Green Helmet & Hawaiian Shirt.
