For surfaces that don't need much flexing, I like the idea of using plastic laminate, like what is used for countertops.

It comes in thousands of patterns, textures, colors etc, from tastefull to bizzare.

However, I don't know if it has enough flex for anything but a hatch or sliding door cover.

It is certainly more durable, and easier to clean the the stuff that comes stock in a Westy, though.
