I posted a while ago that, out of curiosity, I ordered the above kit from a local dealer.

Well as many of you might have guessed my local (all but useless) VW (registered trademark of Volkswagen) dealer came back with the standard reply:the kit is no longer available. They eagerly substituted the kit with the three position switch by itself; no bulb and no socket.

When I went to pick up the part I asked the counter guy to check his stock for the socket and bulb that fit the switch. He did.

The whole kit (piece-by-piece) cost me 18.76 tax title and licensing included.

Now, if some one would expound upon the working of this three position switch I would appreciate it.
