Stuart; Hmmmm.. I remember assembling an axle and splined stub on the work bench and trying to install it as a unit on my 86. Due to the suspension box and angle it would not GO IN! I had to separate them and put the stub in by itself.What year vehicles did you have success with this procedure? I am glad you brought up the TORX thing. The new CV boot kit came with "cap bolts" that had twelve point bolts. Sears did not have anything that looked like that. Where do you get them. The 6mm allen did fit fine.
