Subject: 1.9 to 2.1 hose conversion
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Here's the scoop: I have an 84 Westy that I'm restoring. The metal coolant pipes are bad of course, and I have an 86 parts vehicle with good plastic pipes. In that the diameter is larger, some other things will obviously have to be swapped. My question is this for those of you who have done this: Would it be advantageous for me to swap out the whole cooling system including thermostat housing, waterpump hookups. This would get rid of the hoses in the engine compartment, and the ridiculous thermostat scenario on the 1.9. Will it create problems with sensor hookups? Will I need to swap out the coolant tanks as well? I'd prefer experienced responses not educated guessers. Thanks all.
