I started the '88 Wolfsburg this (cold) morning and the temp light started flashing. Kept flashing, kept flashing. Checked expansion tank, it's fine. Drove it a little bit, one eye on the temp needle. Arrived at my destination, switched it off. On the next startup, no flashing light. Startup after that, no flashing light. I know this has been covered before, but I can't remember the cause or the cure - a sensor wire?. In the absence of a truly effective FAQ list, can somebody tell me what's happening here?
