Subject:   Bi-Tron oil products
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=us-ascii

About a week or two ago numerous mails were posted regarding the Bi-tron oil products. Can anyone tell me if this product is similar to the Slick 50 products. Does the Slick 50 transmission treatment give you the same results as it was claimed for the bi-tron (smoother shifting). I have not found anyone yet here in New Hampshire who carries the bi-tron products or ven heared of it.

My transmission has 162,000 miles on it and in cold wheater I have difficulty shifting into 2nd gear; either I don't get it it or it will grind.

Sometimes it is also a problem to shift out of 3rd gear into neutral, but this almost seems to be more related to lack of lubrication in the gear shift linkage. I have had this happening before and the repair shop lubricated the linkage with a special grease which should not easily be washed away by splashing water. Unfortunately even with this special grease (I forgot the mane of it) it takes a couple of rainy days and the shifting becomes harder again.

Any ideas?
