I just located a 1997 TDI Jetta here in Massachusetts last weekend. They wanted $2000 for the TDI engine, turbo, intercooler, ecu, wiring harnesses, fusebox, accelerator pedal pot, and all engine accessories. Pretty good deal IMO.
Seems like $3500 is somewhat of a ripoff -- especially if it doesn't include all the above.
