Re: Luke's Tire Saga..... More rules of life...For Friday, too: RSVP 1. Never play cards with a guy named, "Doc." 2. Never eat a a place called, "Mom's." 3. Never sleep with anyone who has more problems that you. 4. Never fail to ask for "road hazard" coverage for new tires. I had the same sidewall failure on 370Yokos from Sears. I was cross-country from home in CA, in Delaware, on a Sunday morning. SEARS sign looms on the horizon. "No Yokos in stock, Gotta order. Where are you going?" "California via Missouri." "Where in MO?" "Suburban St. Louie." "Leemme see. Chesterfield? OK? "We'll have tire there in two days" Gotta spare you can run on to MO?" "Yep, one." "You need a spare, spare. "I'll look for a spare, spare, here, used, of course, on the house. Mount it for you." Order and pick up tire(s) (two,) while I'm at it, in MO, long way from DE and long way from CA. Moral?. Sears, old Mother Sears, stodgy, plain 'ol Sears, not too cool to the Rack and Discounts and Barn clients, has Yokos: tire, tax, tip, license, inspection, readiest, all "ups and extras, mount, stems, balance, disposal, state levy for environment, " road hazard," no hassles with the freight company, no finding the local tire fixer/mounter, avoiding the skinned hands, digital amputations, cussing and "you're-on-your-own" on a Sunday, 2,500 miles from home"-syndromes, for about $90 a tire. Thank you for using your Sears credit card, Sir." (Satisfaction guaranteed...etc., For about 40 years......) Usual disclaimers... Tom Hanlon Palm Springs, CA 84 Westy..
