A great vehicle...i had one too, and it rivaled my syncro in
terms of
everything. At age 17 i converted it into a westfalia
version (sans the pop
top...but it had a window from a B-52 bolted to the
roof...covered about 30%
of it!). I sure would like to get another. there are a lot
of them on the
road here in SF...most of which still look new even though
they are 30 years
old now. Also, your description of the difference bilsteins
made is what i
typically hear about them no matter what the vehicle.

Don't forget Old Man Emu from Australia. The are imported
by ARB in
seattle. 206 264 1669. They actually make front and rears
for the syncro
and will be stocking them in the usa for the first time by
the end of April.
