Hy, I had to replace the links on my '80 last year. It was the first time. I had both links broken and I search for some good ones on local salvage yards, but 50% are already broken. I paid 10 USD for two links. I took some pictures, and as soon as they are out of processing, I like to send them to Martin Jagersand, who already offers a web site about this common failure. There are two kind of links, those curved ones on the early, and straight ones on the later Vanagons. I only heard, that the curved one will brake some time, not the straight. But they are not replaceable. Helmut '80 Vanagaudi |
