Hi Volks,
    I just finished installing a new motor in a fellow LiMBO member's
'87 Syncro camper. (thats a storie in itself)  Anyway, I was checking
the bus over for an inpection sticker and I noticed a couple of things
on it that looked different from other Vanagon's I have driven or
owned.  I noticed the headlights have 'H4' instead of 'Halogen' in the
glass and I noticed the front directional lenses have notches in them
between the screw holes.  Both parts are stock parts, they look
identical to my friends '90 camper, other than the for-mentioned
differences.  I never noticed these on other syncros. (never really
looked either) I'll have to check my Microfishe and see if the part
numbers are different between 2wd and 4wd Vanagons.   Are the headlights
any brighter than stock squares?  They seem fairly bright but I don't
have anything to compare it to.  I have no idea what purpose the notches
in the directional lenses would serve, although I like the look.  Just
wondering if anyone else noticed these items. Take care.
