Hello,

Both Redline MTL (75w80) and MT-90 (75w90) are GL4 rated synthetics and will work just fine. The VW G50 synth gear oil is 75w90. If you live in colder climates or have a high mileage trans thats balky about going into gear (especially 2nd in the morning!) then you might consider the MTL. This is my view on it and has worked for me in the past-YMMV. When in doubt follow the directions from Redline or VW and you should be OK.
