well after 209500 miles, the original tranny gave up theproverbial ghost.. and the headers evidently didnt want to be left out of the whole mess and started cracking :-(

anyways, i was wondering how much a stock rebuilt tranny would cost to hold me over until i can com,e up with the funds to invest in a race quality overdriven transaxle. preferably a 911/boxter tranny with a 6-speed sequential webster gearset and 12"inboard disk brakes with a maching magnesium tranny case..hehe think i'm goin overboard here?

in other news, after working at skip barber racing school at lime rock park, i've come to respect the v-dub/porsche transaxle(even when we go through them faster than water through a sieve.)

ok so heres the bottom line.(yes cause i said so) 1. how much should i expect to pay for a rebuilt tranny? 2. are there any tranny places that accept payment in small chunks of lets say $10 over the next 300 years? (yeah i guess i'm just thinking like a college student again...doh!

anyways any thoughts would be helpful(flames are nice too.) :-)
