Subject: Alternator upgrade?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Just a quick question. Can the 90 amp alternator be made to work on a air-cooled motor in place of the 65 amp there now? I've read the archives about having to replace or supplement the wiring between the alt. and starter, and also possibly between the alt. and the battery, but my concern is with the mechanical mounting. The 65 amp. has three mounting tabs for the heater blower fan housing, of which two are also used to mount the alt. to the motor. The 90 amp. style that I have seen only has two tabs. Ideas, questions, comments and a good joke or two (since it is Friday already on the east coast) readily accepted.

TIA, Mark 82 Westy
