The covers are held on with a long wire sort of the same way a watch band is held onto a watch. If you take the outlet off and look at the side you will see holes that you can stick a pin into to push the wire out a little way. Then just grab the end of the wire and pull. I once replaced a broken spring with one taken from a ball point pen. Worked OK for a while but then I lost the door. I havent figured out how to replace the whole door yet other than to buy a new one ($$$$$!!!!!). Searching the junk yards is futile as the outlets seem to be the second thing to vanish from a new junker (the first is the rear hatch supports).

Has anyone had to fix any of the three covers on the utility inlets. The electrical inlet(center) cover may have a broken spring or something else. I'm not sure how to take it off. Any help would be appreciated Spencer
