Hi, An old tranny guy once told me you could get a couple extra laps out of a slipping tranny by putting in an ounce of brake fluid. The theory was that brake fluid softens and swells seals, just like in the brake system. It worked on my old Volvo for the better part of a year, and was very helpful, budgetwise.

He warned though DON'T USE MORE THAN AN OUNCE, OR YOUR SEALS WILL TURN TO MUSH.

I would also only consider this to be a stopgap remedy.

Good luck,

Karl Wolz
