>Today I stopped by the local truck >scale and weighted my Syncro Double Cabs >front and rear axles. >FRONT: 1030kg ~2260lbs >REAR: 840kg ~1850lbs >-------------------------------------- >TOTAL 1870kg ~4100lbs >Is the 55/45 weight ratio the same on >Vanagons and Westfalias? Seems >awfully nose heavy to me. Same to me. 1870 kg for a Crewcab, a much too lot. My Camper's weight is 1870 kg empty. Usual max weights (2WD) are 1200 kg front, 1300 kg rear. What you like to load, if the front already carries 1030 kg empty? Isn't your crewcab that one with the plastic nose? What's the weight of this? But it is the usual way to make the front heavier than the rear. This gives moore stability in cross winds. In fast turns you will get a better handling, too. Helmut '80 Camper |
