Kari - Obviously, your right to self defense AND your protection of your daughters supercedes ANY stupid State law that attempts to nullify that right of yours. If you are going to attempt a cross-country trip with your gals, the thought of carrying a handgun or long gun has to be your decision to make. I wouldn't do it without. Take a look at http://www.nraila.org/research/riflaws.html to take a look at the most current State laws concerning the carrying, in your vehicle, of handguns/rifles/shotguns, as a "non-resident" through various States, some of which do NOT respect one's right to self-defense! You'll have two daughters traveling with you, so they, once "educated", should be able to keep things "shipshape"! Probably be best that you avoid NY (ESPECIALLY NYC!), MA and DC. The ONLY folks allowed to have guns in those areas are the criminals & the cops (sometimes, especially in NYC, it's difficult to tell the difference!). Traveling down South, though, is a delight! We STILL have some control over the radicals who would make us carbon copies of the Northern Tribes! BOB - WA4RRN '85GL - "Bourgeois" http://www.thermitegrenades.org |
