Subject:      transmission filler bolt--where?
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

I think I found the transmission filler bolt/hole on my 87 Westy but am not positive. It is a couple of inches up from the bottom of the transmission, the bolt is depressed into the transmission about millimeter, and there is a ridge around the hole on the transmission. It is maybe five to eight inches from the end of the transmission towards the front of the bus. I read in a previous post that it takes a 17 mm hex wrench that it feels like a hex bolt. Is that it?

The Bentley manual has two pictures (two versions of transmission listed-not counting Syncro), but I can't read the numbers on mine to figure out which one I have (such great pictures too-doesn't say a darn thing about how to add/change the manual transmission fluid (&%$#%^&)). ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>:-) Phillip 87 westy Annapolis, MD
