Other than trying to save a dollar by installing a used component
why would you want to?  What if after installing the used trans
you still have the same vibration?  Did you pay someone to R&R
this unit?  Well, there's money out the window.  Did you do it
yourself?  Well, there's time out the window.  How will you get
reimbursed from where ever you got the used trans from?

I don't know what 'the book' says it should take but I'd have 12-16
hours into a big job like this.  For the inexperienced without the
special tools required then the sky's the limit on time.  Just how
difficult is it?  I wouldn't want this transaxle to be the first for anyone
to do.  Better to start off with a Beetle trans to familiarize yourself
with the general layout then then I'd still think hard about subletting
it to a professional.

OTOH- I know a couple of nonprofessionals who have successfully
rebuilt their 2WD or Syncro trans.  You will have to be the judge as
to your skill level and if you really want to do this.
