For the deranged Vanagon owner on a budget we have the less expensive (Pratt and Witney) PT-6 conversion kit. The kit includes one PT-6 engine (turbine) with fuel pump and FCU (fuel control unit), ignitors, ballast box, and a Hamilton Standard constant speed pusher prop. This kit does require some minor cutting of the body (a hole for the prop gear box to stick out of in the rear). The advantages, 500 shaft horsepower engine pushing your van down the road, bleed air can be used for airconditioning/cabin pressurization, runs off of kerosene or diesel and very efficient (for 500 hp that is). Please mail several platinum bars to Van-Again, Millville Airport, NJ BR549. Drive your van to the airport and fly home! Happy April 1st! Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16 |
